T.C.P.: Where do you get inspiration?
L.C.: I come back to Plato’s concept that empty vessels make the loudest noise. I work to look past all that is ostentatious and find reward in the unassuming.
T.C.P.: How do you come up with the idea to put together your collages?
L.C.:My process begins by cropping small moments within images out of context. I then lace these isolated fragments together searching for a pairing or arrangement that flirts with provocation.
T.C.P.: What was the main goal for you with this project?
L.C.: Self help
T.C.P.: Is photography your favorite media to work on?
L.C.: It might just be the easiest. I like collage because I get a quick reaction with minimal effort on my part. Adversely, my favorite media is oil. At a large scale, there is a relationship between the artist and her medium that is just as much physical as it is ideological.
T.C.P.: What other current projects are you working on at the moment?
L.C.: I am hoping to find the time and space to create some large figure studies.
